After the FCU all of my hyper-v VMs were missing from the hyper-v manager. They were still on my hard drive and when I tried to import them they all stopped the import with an error. I was able to get them back by re-importing them into new folders with a new ID. Is there something I could have done that would have been less time consuming and not mess with activation?

I did not have this issue... Did you go from 1703 to 1709? Or did you upgrade from a different release?

I think you can do something like attach a vhd.

Stop hovering to collapse... Click to collapse... Hover to expand... Click to expand...

I went from 1703 to 1709. Scared the hell out of me when I looked in the VM manager and it was empty.

Really? The VM is nothing but a descriptor file
Only vhdx really matters to get the VM back alive
