My Fibre is protected by Plastic Pipes outside the Outside wall where Octotel Left the Fibre incase i want to sign up to it but for some reason i cant get more than 25 Mbps Down when speedtesting to London UK..i am paying for 300 Mbps Down / 200 Mbps Upload... i perform a Speedtest on my laptop with Category 6 LAN with a speedtestcustom.com and perform a speedtest to the UK or Germany my speeds are 25 Mbps Down / 3 Mbps Up to European countries but when i speedtest to Johannesburg i get 19ms ping but here is my speedtest to Joburg https://iploc.speedtestcustom.com/result/5bfc25b0-109c-11f1-b7ce-83e470f0d913 why am i not Getting 300 Mbps FULL Speed ? my upload speed to joburg is good. is it possible that my Fibre optic is wet outside before it reaches the Optical Network Terminal ?
I'd tell your ISP and have them troubleshoot. It sounds like if they were willing to provision that and charge for those speeds, they'd have tested the connection to your house to make sure you could reliably handle it? If in-house speeds ever reached that and all of a sudden stopped coming anywhere near the advertised speeds, I'm thinking it's external and the ISP needs to fix something. If you're being throttled or the ISP's limiting speeds; they can tell you about that too (some ISPs throttle if you're caught pirating and won't lift speeds until you call em )
No Bro My ISP offers Unlimited Unshaped Unthrottled NO FUP NO AUP Unlimited Fibre internet. The Fibre was installed on 18th December 2025 Only connected it on The 31st December 2025 THE WHOLE OF January The Fibre was FULL Speed Locally 100% Some People in South Africa has used THOUSANDS And Hundreds of Terabytes within 3 Months or More and The Fibre ISP's or The FNO's Don't Throttle any Home Fibre users
