Code: C:\windows\system32>DiskSnapshot.exe -h DiskSnapshot.exe [options] -f full raw data to console -i intermediate data to console -s summary data to console -u process large volumes (no limit) -j [config] specifies an alternate config file
Using the key that came w/ the download: NKJFK------HQRJR does not work to add features, The window says the key is no good. Need .NET above 2.0 to install a app, sadly I cant get past the key part in add features Something is goofed-up w/ this Edit: OK I typed "features" on the start screen & was able to choose .NET 3.0-3.5 there & it installed fine.
It's very encouraging to see that WMC hasn't been dropped yet. WMC is awesome with an HD Homerun Prime and I can't live without it.
"Add features to Windows" is the old "Windows Anytime Upgrade" It changes versions to different more advanced versions of Windows. For example, changing Professional to ProfessionalWMC in Windows 8. We'll have to wait and see what all we can upgrade to when the thing actually gets released. The key that is listed on the download page is for the actual OS, not an upgrade; so it won't work in that context.
the whole context looks different for me Code: Description Faulting Application Path: C:\Windows\ImmersiveControlPanel\SystemSettings.exe Problem signature Problem Event Name: MoAppCrash Package Full Name: windows.immersivecontrolpanel_6.2.0.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy Application Name: praid:microsoft.windows.immersivecontrolpanel Application Version: 6.4.9841.0 Application Timestamp: 5413b30f Fault Module Name: combase.dll Fault Module Version: 6.4.9841.0 Fault Module Timestamp: 5413aa92 Exception Code: c00000fd Exception Offset: 0000000000066bbb OS Version: 6.4.9841.2.0.0.256.48 Locale ID: 3079 Additional Information 1: dd0a Additional Information 2: dd0a76f45fddb430183c67a318ba41dc Additional Information 3: 2920 Additional Information 4: 2920b48b2e07478595a799b53a473ef7 Extra information about the problem Bucket ID: f9a3a652ad8f0078ed476a87086e6052 (98870582188)
RetailDemoService.dll Hi Have found something HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\RetailDemo %SystemRoot%\system32\RetailDemoService.dll BG
What's this do ? By the way, you can close app totally by clicking on X (In win 8.1.1 it close app but it show in task manager).
For faster Restart and /or Shutdown HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\StillImage\ServerSettings ShutdownIfUnusedDelay Base = Hexadecimal Value date = 2 for 2sek
Everything internet-wise actually seems faster to me. I had to check on Speedtest.net to see if my connection was updated by Time Warner it's such a big difference. They've updated my speed in the past without notifying so I thought maybe they did it again. Nope Chrome and IE both seem a lot faster on my laptop than they are with 8.1 Update 1. Don't have it installed to my desktop yet.
Hide search and task view Here is some code I have written in order to hide the two new taskbar buttons (search and task view). Source code and exe file included (in the bin folder). feel free to improve or modify the code, as long as you share any improvements here. It is something I have rapidly scratched, few time payed for polishing it... View attachment WinTHButtonHider.zip Oh yeah, and it would be super cool if someone finds a way to make the borders large as it were in Windows 8.1...
Cortana app is in C:\Program Files\WindowsApps, maybe is related to the search app (being an early build)?
