Great observation! Not only an obscure log but the Details tab in it. This looks like a great way to keep up on builds that might be in our near future (I imagine they try these out for days internally first), if we get them at all.
Actually that's an old feature, since 8.1: it is available if you have a supported system installed in the VM (8.1/Server 2012R2), don't remember this in 8.0/Server 2012 That's simply because that console properties dialog is not part of neither CMD nor PowerShell. These are just the properties of Conhost.
Actually, I'm pretty sure this is the Professional version since it is a modded 8.1 pro version. The 140927-1520 is different than the current 140912-1613 though.
I'm guessing Cortana's installed, but just not programmed to be connected to anything. If you think about software dev methods, it makes sense. They're changing so much around, it'd be a waste of time to program all her connections right now. If I were them, though, I'd be making some sort of universal connection parameters to save themselves future issues with updates and cross-platform stuff.
correct me if i'm wrong, but don't most computers come as uefi now? so your advice works in your case, but one size doesn't fit all.
I believe its not that cortana isnt "programmed" as you say but more that 1 she is disabled or/and 2 she isnt being used. Interresting enough is that we the developers and users have access to her api and liberaries making it possible to create a small app that showcases a very small bit of her capacities.
format and reinstall. joking of course, couldn't resist, i get your point. that's why everyone has said test in a vm and don't use as main OS.
The links in the manifest for Cortana says "The resource you are looking for has been removed, had its name changed, or is temporarily unavailable."
hmm strange I did a clean install of win 10 using the 64 bit iso and it worked good, I tried the ms download and it crashed graphics pixilated and stopped at 70%. so now I go and install STEAM and download my games after they were downloaded they asked me to do a survey I did and they asked me to send system info so I looked at what they had gathered and guess what they said my operating system was win 8.1 64 bit, prior to installing win 10 I had win 7 ult also the OS install date was dec 31 1969 hell the computer isn't that old I built it in 2010
You're probably right. Everytime I use the new search button in the taskbar, this error pops up in the Event Viewer.
I did the install on one of my older putters, also the steam game worked good if not better, my main puter has win 8.1 I don't test on my main but all in all it seems to be stable "win 10" haven't had any probs yet sound and video are good so far im happy with it and I don't put any stuff on it on a test puter that can get me into trouble lol
Cant see that img on my mobile but if when trying to open the search thru search ícon try to see if you can open modern apps if by opening those apps you get a screen resolution not compatible then you need to change Display1_DownScalingSupport that is if i wrote that correctely a Google search will tell though... value to one on the regedit
