This is you thinking it is backporting instead of having a separate build in progress for Windows 8.1 Update 2 that is being used as a base for Windows 10 (also known as developing Start Menu for Windows 8.1 Update 2 and Copying/Upgrading it to Windows 10). If i am indeed right on my train of thought MS will release Win8.1 Update 2 Between Now and Mid-WinX Development.
I still don't agree. At this point, seeing as there has already been an update 2 (August Update) it will not be named Update 2. It will be Update 3 or MonthName Update. If there were any plans for a Start Menu update they would have released already.
Your train of thought de-railed Update 2 became Windows 10. I highly doubt they have any plans on bringing the Start menu to 8.1 after they made the decision to make 8.1 Update 2 Windows 10. That decision is a very clear sign they want to move away from 8 and the backlash it caused. When they announced the Start screen they pretty much said the Start menu was dead. A few years later and it's back. They know they screwed up and Windows 10 will be the fix. 8 is pretty much dead to them now. Oh it'll get supported, but don't expect any new features added through Windows Update like certain people who shall remain nameless was soo sure was going to happen because their corpnet buddy told them so.
More than likely it did de-rail but thats normal at least for me (even though it shouldnt ), what i meant is one mention of Windows 8.1 Update 2 on Windows X isn't the clearest sign that Windows 8.1 Update 2 is now Windows X but a clear sign that 1) Start Menu was going to appear on Win8.1.2 but didn't make it in time 2) Microsoft might have decided that since they were going to release a new operating system the most logical thing was to insert a "feature" widely missed on a product not associated with failure (Windows 8.X) 3) A Start Menu with Live Tiles just reinforced the idea of a new "Windows built from the ground up".
You never know, I've seen floppy discs laying around the house for years now, I wanted to check them out but I guess I can't anymore?
They will made the floppy drivers in next release, as i asked the question to M$ support ==> Answer : we are doing all the effort to make it available in next release as someone forgot to compile it on W10TP
the sys file hasn't been compiled but the inf files are there, look at Code: Directory of C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository 13.09.2014 09:22 <DIR> c_fdc.inf_amd64_c7989d4ec4b68a79 04.10.2014 02:38 <DIR> c_floppydisk.inf_amd64_d5508983e82424d5
Yes I noticed also, but something must be wrong somewhere, because i've pointed to a wim file (from 8.1+udpated iso) mounted and tried to update the driver, floppy is found but unable to be installed. So i wait next release.
Microsoft's Windows 10 Preview has permission to watch your every move The Windows Insider Programme seemed like a gesture of openness and willingness to collaborate with developers on a peer level. But a closer look at the privacy policy of the Windows 10 preview reveals some startling permissions that you grant by installing and using it. The Privacy Policy states, If you open a file, we may collect information about the file, the application used to open the file, and how long it takes any use [of] it for purposes such as improving performance, or [if you] enter text, we may collect typed characters, and use them for purposes such as improving autocomplete and spell check features. When you acquire, install and use the Program, Microsoft collects information about you, your devices, applications and networks, and your use of those devices, applications and networks.Examples of data we collect include your name, email address, preferences and interests; browsing, search and file history; phone call and SMS data; device configuration and sensor data; and application usage. Privacy statement : windows.microsoft. com /en-gb/windows/preview-privacy-statement (sorry i am not alowed to post links) What do you think ?
These are the services that I found running in Win 10, that don't exist in Win 8. coremessaging Diagnostics Tracking Service dmwappushsvc (can't be turned off in Services) appx deployment service Intel Integrated clock controller geolocation service network connection broker
well what do I think? enough for me to leave the insider program and get rid of 10 forever, I actually went back to an older os I had that runs great, one that is not connected to the cloud, but thats another story, just me
When I press on "file explorer" (home), I can see only picture files in "Recent files" category. do you see another type of files there ?
Fair enough. Looks like we weren't disagreeing after all. I'm pretty sure the big huppaboo about the reference was that Microsoft tried to make it seem as the idea of an update 2 was simply wild "rumors and speculation" and that is never existed. Awesome work! By the way, are these all probably related to the preview? In theory, could Windows Connect or Secondary Login provide remote access to the computer perhaps? And that service that will make it hard to be remove sure seems to act like malware!
I disabled all of them, everythings still works fine, even action center and online check for solutions. Code: net stop seclogon net stop wcncsvc net stop dps net stop SSDPSRV net stop DiagTrack net stop dmwappushsvc (NOGO) did anyone else notice stuttering playback of youtube videos in IE11?
If you are afraid of being spied upon and unistalled Win10TP then great :fuyou2: because it was never created for people like you who are testing it for test sake and not sharing that information with Microsoft to improve this product that is Win10TP but if you state that your never going to install Windows 10 forever because of Win10TP just means your tech illiterate (nothing wrong on being it) The 1st two services and the 4rth have been in all Windows and aren't related to the preview itself.
