The worry is not now, but later once the code RTMs. If we can understand how the recording of computer data works now, we can compare once it RTMs.
You shouldn't be afraid because you consented to sending that data being shared with Microsoft, Microsoft doesn't care what exes you open or else i would have them on my house because i opened a WinActivator for enabling the Windows 10 Consumer Preview, just interested to find more and you won't uninstall Windows10 then congrats your a tester that doesn't mind and consents to having data sent to Microsoft... if you do disable the most data sharing services than its fine all the same you do have that option but that post was more directed to a user on about page 38 that said he would uninstall due to all that data sharing and wouldn't install 10 ever. Win9fanatic: Unless you consented to have data shared on rtm too it wont happen unless you keep updating your preview all the way up to rtm. If that indeed happens i recommend a rtm clean build and not one provided by the insider program.
If you had read you did consent to that as part of typing correction system, dont want to share that data more than likely disabling auto correct of PC Settings will do the trick. From another forum: /r/Windows10/comments/2i4286/mysterious_new services_in_Wtp So loads of new services ones that belong to WPhone.
I hope MS will fix the option to snap app to quarter of the screen on desktop (you can only snap windows/programs to quarter).
use the feedback app. let them know directly what you are looking for. Thats what the feedback app is for.
what, do you not notice about this snap problem ? It's something you don't miss. I'm sure someone write them in feedback app.
Some programs wont install because of the regsrv32.exe is to new. (Like Klite-codec pack) EDIT: Replaced with old regsrv32.exe from Windows 8.1, and it installs fine.
That's great! Hopefully this is what Nadella was saying about cutting down the unnecessary levels of management!
ok here's my experience so far on my installation. installed as 2nd OS ( Win7 # 1 ) on a dual boot system. booted to Win 10 a few times to install programs to check compatability. when that was done decided to delete the Win 10 ( bcdedit /delete ). now comes the interesting part. started up in Win 7 today and was browsing the forum when my computer told me Win 7 wasn't genuine. no big deal. for testing purposes only i tried the KMS activators, but none of them worked. never had a problem before. only problem is i don't know if it happened when i installed Win 10 or deleted it. have to check that out. anyways figured this was a good time to do an in place upgrade. started install from inside Win 7, and blah blah blah, it asked me what i wanted to keep. chose everything. setup did it's thing and rebooted. on start up came a black screen, no big deal happened before. just turn off and restart monitor. setup went about doing it's thing ( lots of router activity ) and after about a half hour, bingo, finally got to the customize screen. got to the signup screen and typed in a false account twice before the "use prior account" showed on the right hand side. finally got into windows and as far as i can tell the only thing Win 10 deleted was Avast Antivirus. theo only other thing i was worried about was Vbox v4.3.12, but it works fine. don't know about later versions. they didn't work on my previous Win 10 install. guess i'll play around with this for a while and see what happens. anyone else have a similar situation with there Win 7 activation? btw forgot to mention the Win 7 i upgraded from was a sysprepped administrator account and alls well with that. oh one other thing. my previous install was on a drive labelled Win7Drive and the upgrade didn't rename it to Win10Drive. so as everyone has reported so far, success all around.
For those who find it difficult to clear the 'Frequent folders and Recent Files' under Home. Right-click your Taskbar and select Properties. Next, click Start Menu tab, the two selected boxes and then click Clear button. Click Apply.
After experiencing a sfc /scannow error (reporting that corrupted files have been found but could not be repaired) on two upgraded machines, i installed the Preview freshly and still get this error. Code: Beginning system scan. This process will take some time. Beginning verification phase of system scan. Verification 100% complete. Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios. Hashes still match, so the ISO isn't the source of that error. Dism repair passed successfuly (normal way and by assigning a source wim for repair). Anybody else experiencing this?
