Yeah, I like it too. You can still make the upper border a little bit thinner, just like before, by setting PaddedBorderWidth = 0 in the registry.
If anyone find way to enable hot corners like charms bar please post here which reg key to edit because it's very useful. Thanks in advance
Extremely likely. I'm leaving ThresholdInternal at 0 for now just so that I have a working "Check now." The ability to set fast/slow and to choose the branch are great, however, and should be very interesting later in the month.
Background Processes: ApplicationFrameHost.exe - this thing seems to be responsible for hosting Store apps in a window. If you kill it, they won't work anymore (and you have to log-off and log-in to make them work again). It guess this works like a window manager, hooking the native handle of the app window and manipulate it.
Seems something is different with audio. FMod on Doomsday Engine doesn't play music back (worked on 8.1), and IndirectSound causes crashes with both Halo: CE and Diablo II (worked fine on 8.1).
no one answered my post, so I copy/paste it from the general discussion thread: when I tried to change the properties (change from "manual" to "automatic start") of Application Identity service from services.msc, I got an error message"access is denied". I am using a local account with Admin privilege. What gives? oh BTW, I am trying out the Enpterprise x64 version.
And that is a bad thing how? The complaints with Windows 8 had NOTHING to do with backward-compatibility (or lack thereof) - in terms of ewither hardware OR software (in short, THE bugbear that had been haunting Windows since ME had been decidedly banished with 8). So far, the Technical Preview has shown the same solid backward-compatibility that 8.1 (and 8 before it) had - so no faults there. THe complaints with Windows 8 (and 8.1) had EVERYTHING to do with appearances/aesthetics.
Give this a try. Step 1: Open up command prompt as ADMIN Step 2: Type this: "sc config AppIDSvc start=demand" There is one option left after this if that doesn't work but it involves registry modification to manually set the service settings.
Issue: I think the snap-feature seems to be broken. When you grab a window and snap it to the left, right, etc. and un-snap it again, it won't recover its original size. Really annoying when you snap two windows side-by-side and want to recover them.
Anyone else notice when you have this pc selected as an icon on desktop and you go to copy a large file over to docs you get several more this pc icons appearing on desktop. I have reproduced this several times and even done a reinstall. See Photo:
Confirmed that when I accidentally added another my computer icon via the registry. They multiply lol
