If you want to use VirtualBox, you can download Portable VirtualBox from vbox.me You can download Portable-VirtualBox_v4.3.18-Starter_v6.4.9-Win_all.exe from that site. When you run portable installer, make sure you provide VirtualBox-4.3.14-95030-Win.exe downloaded from official VirtualBox website (that is the last version of VirtualBox that works with Windows 10 TP) instead of 4.3.18. That worked for me in 9901, haven't tried the latest build yet.
Great! Running the magic PowerShell CMD to remove all MUI Apps also deletes the Action Center & the new startmenu. I hate it how Microsoft uses XAML for nearly everything. It's like Java but even worse.
Why shouldn't they? XAML is much more powerful and sophisticated compared to the Win32 stuff a la MFC & Co. And how the heck does this compare to Java? No offense, but you don't seem to know what you're talking about, technology wise.
Build 9926 Code: reg add "HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\MTCUVC" /v EnableMtcUvc /t reg_dword /d 00000001 /f early volume mixer Code: PFN: Windows.MtcUvc_6.2.0.0_neutral_neutral_cw5n1h2txyewy (CoreSys) does not apply to modernhaters, as outlined above, mass removing modern apps is dangerous as doing that leaves you without stuff
hehe Install the english Language Pack and set location to US English an restart... and activate Cortana in the settings You can ask here Causual questions like "Are you smart?" When you ask her "How old are you" she will speech "I've been around longer than "crowdsourcing" has been in the dictionary" try to ask here: "What do you know about me?"
I have to agree with sevenacids, you have no idea what you're talking about, XAML is just as powerful and it doesn't make a single difference to end users if the Start Menu is written in XAML or not. And XAML > Java.
Neither one seem to have an idea what it's being talked about, as XAML is markup, not programming. You program the app logic on .NET languages. Similarly on the other WinRT side, you can design apps using HTML5, but you still write logic on JS.
The Windows Update seems to be missing from the classic Control Panel in Build 9926. I don't know if anybody has noticed that.
Enable Windows Update in classic Control Panel HKEY LOCAL MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\WindowsUpdate\UX "IsConvergedUpdateStackEnabled"=dword:00000000
Speaking of Windows Update, it no longer seems to be the way by which Adobe Flash updates (for IE) are handled. I see no indication of an update happening in its history, yet according to the Adobe Flash test page run from IE I have 16.0.0.296 from just a few days ago installed (not to be confused with the version for Firefox, which is a separate thing). This is a good thing, since even those who have WU set to notify-only will see this installed automatically (one of the very few things I actually want installed automatically). Update: And yet, toward the end of the day, MS released a Flash update via WU, so go figure. The version as reported by Adobe's own status page remains the same after installing it....
Also just found this as well on another site. New Logon Screen Key path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\ SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\ Authentication\LogonUI\TestHooks Existing Value Name: Threshold Change Data Value: 1 It changes the appearance of you log-in/lock screen and re arranges the items that were on it.
Both were already mentioned, someone really needs to update the first post, or create a new thread and properly maintain the first post. (I volunteer, if that's OK with the mods)
there is 9931 coming... i forgot to remove old registry entry with fdbl_awasome1501 and when checking for windows update today on build 9926 it offered me 9931 for download...of course as before I couldn't
