I just love how everyone keeps saying that Windows 10 is like Windows 7. I find that a little hard to digest. If anything it is like the abomination (Windows 8/8.1). If this is going to be MSs last OS, then they are going to go out of business (IMO). Maybe it's time though. I say thanks but no thanks to Windows 10.
I wish! Maybe linux will finally have 2 percent market share of desktop\laptop market!Oh wait that will never happen. Linux will always be around 1 percent... LMAO more people use windows vista than linux!
I found out that oneget doesn't work on this Windows 10. I couldn't install it nor use it to install applications.
This might look a little noob-ish and maybe someone has posted it before, but in the Power Options menu in the Control Panel, you can now set a button to turn off the display.
Linux has many different faces. Remember that it plays a major role in the mobile world in form of Android, so it's not that easy to make fun of it. If I would have to make a guess, I'd say that Windows will remain the predominant operating system on more traditional PCs like notebooks and desktops, but in the mobile world... well, I'd say that Windows 10 is their last chance. If they don't get it right this time and convince enough people to choose their platform, it is doomed to a nice existence in the long-term. But maybe that's not so bad. They still have Office and Azure. It's unlikely they will go out of business anytime soon just because Windows might fail at some point.
Talking about desktop PC's\laptop, I know ANDROID is on tons of devices like phones, tablets,TV devices, etc. The year of linux of laptop\desktop is never coming.
Okay, I'm going to download and install the Windows 10 Preview. What if something goes wrong? Do I lose all my data? I dont have any Windows Installation Disc as a backup or something. Should I install it?
Android and server apart, most market share figures published are meaningless - they are (OEM) sales and enterprise related, of which users have little to no choice - more accurate are the web access figues which puts Linux usage at around 10 - 25%.
