Now, is it free or do you auto-pay with you data? I don't care if it's specific to Microsoft. There are just no global rules for globalized data conversion and processing at the moment.
Yes, it is free. It's included in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1 . I don't understand why it is now relevant when Windows 10 is going to be free.
There are personalized ads in windows 8/8.1? I never saw that. Okay, you don't understand it's not free due to gathering data using opt-out for the MS-GFS cloud.
On one hand, you fail to be consistent with your statements. I am referring to Microsoft having your information or data in the cloud - possibly introduced in Windows 8 and Windows 8.1. On the other hand, you have the right to opt out by not using the operating system software, if you think Microsoft is intruding into your private life. I think your insinuation on having your data on the cloud is irrelevant to the notion of making Windows 10 free for the public.
Did I say something about "private life"? No. I determined serving personalized ads is a results of personalized data conversion. If you accept TOS you're opted-in. And after switching from android to ios I never saw ads in one of my paid apps. Why in this world should someone switch from a paid license for a google-like "free license" that forces ads?
Well, I don't think you understand what I am talking about. I use the conjunction ''if'' in that sentence for an assumption. However, serving a personalized ads depends on your request. The ads are going to be received randomly excepting you want personalized ones. They don't depend on your data in the cloud though. I still don't understand how that nullifies the fact Windows 10 is going to be free.
Don't use "if" as an assumption - it's used for a decision, so I assume you are either not willing or not able to understand my doubts about this "free upgrade" if there's a data exchange for an upgrade.
It is assumption in my statement and it is crystal clear. Decision is concluding in nature and I am surprised you are going after that where there is none in my prior post. Your doubts are perhaps based on your little understanding of the nitty gritty behind the plan and not willing to accept the exaggerated 'data exchange' has been part of the internet echo system since social networks become popular. To me, that is just a watered down way to inflame emotions in an argument.
*lol* the plan behind is crystal clear and social networks are not that popular anymore since the world knows who else can read your inbox in third countries. calm down, so what, ... Spoiler we don't share the same oppinion, get over it. That's not the end of the world.
If Windows 10 is going to be "free" I see the 2 fundamental corporate laws; 1. Nothing is "free" 2. You get what you pay for.
There is nothing wrong in speculating but it should be explained along that line. Microsoft has made us to understand it is going to make Windows 10 free for those upgrading from Windows 7, 8 and 8.1 on the first one year of release and servicing them for the entire life of the systems. That is clear enough for me.
Adguard has a WFP network filter which is capable of filtering these modern/metro/immersive apps, including Spartan/Edge as well. It's now just a matter of sniffing out the source and updating the filters accordingly. It's possible that the content and ads are over SSL but I am not sure yet.
One of my worries would be advertisements in the Start menu and/or logon/lock screen. It will be interesting to see what the cat drags in with the next build.
I wonder what real corporates think about "sharing" their information with m$, or even the goverments, both outside of the US, they dont give a single f**k about privacy, cause 9/11, ya know?
Yes, I do slightly worry about that. That just means that the functionality is already there. But having the ability to turn it off is good though.
He quite understand what the word free means in that context. Despite that, people claim Linux variants are free operating systems. It is correct to say they aren't 'free' in a nutshell.
