    Hey guys i've a problem with my video card in W8.7955.. it is shown as "Microsoft basic display adapter" but is a nVidia 8600 GT.
    I've try installing the latest nVidia video drivers, but no install 'cuz "not compatible product". Any ideas to resolve the problem? :worthy: :(

    Try getting app's CABs then install it! (operation can be done on CMD)

    well maybe not yet! At the end, kinect IS a sensor =)
    And I did mention that there is no driver from MS yet for windows, we're waiting for the SDK due later this spring
    We'll see what happens...

    Yes but i've downloaded it in italian language.. do you have "8600 GT" in device manager?

    yes that slc.dll does not work very well..going back to the vista/win7 one.

    Like at the ie9 RTM installer from win8 m1! Seach for this( ie9 RTM install for win8 m1) and try to change some locations and voila :)

    Patched slc.dll works. Only thing is when I launch the web cam app the only way I can close it is by killing the task. Ctrl+alt+F9 does not work.

    I've just used the patched slc.dll, though it's disabled Aero, with the message 'Desktop Composition is Disabled' - any ideas on how to re-enable? :(

    right click on "Microsoft basic display adapter", click disable ,install nvidia driver,voila!!
