Findings in M3 Leak---discussion and questions

You need to create it on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID. Right click on CLSID, then New -> Key. Name it as {4F12FF5D-D319-4A79-8380-9CC80384DC08}, and put "AppID" string into.

 

The first post should be updated with all the important findings, I was thinking in a repo-like behavior.

They removed two of the new things I appreciated more in 7850, brightness at battery icon and new Disk Cleanup, congrats to M$ Hope they'll come back.

So anyone here good with theming? If you were able to use reshacker or something similar to extract the bitmaps from the aerolite msstyle, you could then import them into the aero theme in 7955 right?

 

It wouldn't do much good. The Aero blur is rounded and that's hard coded in DWM afaik.

 

So how come it loses aero when you hit shift+ctrl+F9?

Nobody tried Scooby's slc with VHD boot?

 

I will if someone tells me what it is for...

 

Patched slc.dll is required to unlock 8 hidden features. Scooby's version seems to keep intact Control Panel functionality, while other slc.dll floating around breaks Windows Update and User Account sections.
