Where are keybourd shortcuts stored? Maybe ctrl + shift + esc can be assigned to taskui.exe instead of taskmgr.exe.
Infact, the tracing s**t is bulls**t. what you guys got is the original, untouched MS delivered 7850 iso. the hastag displayed at the desktop is just part of the GUID which makes them NOT traceable @stannieman: simply rename taskui.exe to taskmgr.exe and save taskmgr.exe to taskmgrold.exe for backup and other purposes.
Won't this cause problems? EDIT: It does cause problems, the keyboard shortcut just doesn't do anything at all when changing the filenames...
Tracing? lol. But why they can share this M3 builds their dudes who cannot have MS test account? I know some ppls who have M3 builds but who not from Microsoft (ala friend has given to friend then that friend has given to the next friend, etc)
Lol, those huge ugly watermarks on the desktop aren't for show you know. There is a reason why they are there. Notice that MS has never put red text in Winver before, or put a huge disclaimer paragraph on the desktop, unless they didn't want it to leak. So common sense would say that they would want to do something more than just add scary writing, so they put hashtags. The version of 6.1.7850 we got was not untouched. The first screenshots of that build leaked in March and the watermark was blurred because the hashtag was still there...
Just FYI, the whole setting the Debugger thing to redirect to TaskUI works perfectly for me, whenever I press Ctrl+Shift+Esc (and Ctrl+Alt+Del and then press Task Manager) now I get the Modern Task Manager.
And why wouldn't what supposedly happened to 7850's tag apply to other builds? I have yet to see a single piece of evidence supporting the hashtag theory besides blurred screenies.
Could it be because I've taken ownership of the file before when I tried changing the names? How to set the ownership back to trustedinstaller?
I have taken ownership of the entirety of system32, so I doubt that's why, lol. Did you rename TaskUI/TaskMgr?
No, all files have their original names. The reg value works with all exes escept with taskmgr.exe and TaskUI.exe, and that are the only 2 files that I've taken ownership of.
If course I updated the reg, I was the one who posted the last taskmgr value... I should indeed not make any difference, but on my pc the only difference between taskui and other files is the ownership...
