Thank you for confirming this. I updated from 56 to 57rc4 and have the same problem as @Nucleus. The icons are imported correctly from 56 and are correct in the bookmarks toolbar. However when some websites are loaded for the first time in 57, the bookmark icon becomes the strange square icon. Some other sites are unaffected. MDL is affected for me. To clarify (as I see some confusion in the thread), using MDL as an example, the lightbulb icon is correct and present in the tab - but if you bookmark the page and visit it, it becomes the strange square icon.
The Mozilla FIrefox forum on reddit is NOT a reddit forum. LIke all these forusm they are run (and cenbsored) by the companies that stuff! Reddit is utterly useless, you might as well ask Mozille directly of God666. (And the 666 is just a childish exaggeration....)
Reddit, useless? It is often quoted as being the 1st page on the internet (not historically accurate, but a quote used to define just how popular it is). Chrome supporters are often banned from passing misinformation on Reddit for a reason. The mentality of those who like Chrome seems to remind me of Trump supporters... ie... They cannot accept any indifference where their choice is not seen as #1. This plays out even here on MDL (and many other places too). Even here on MDL, we have a thread completely dedicated to Google Chrome. https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/update-google-chrome.30135/ The thread is 18 pages long, 349 post within it, and what do you NOT see? You do not see supporters of Firefox bombing that thread with misinformation about Google Chrome. Yet, Chrome supporters, unwilling to accept any indifference where their choice is not #1, will bomb this (Firefox) thread and seemly anywhere else, including Reddit, with misinformation and misdirection. How good can your choice be, if you must lie just to defend it?
when people says "FF copy Chrome" it is because of FF adding features present since long time on Chrome: - GUI aspect that very look like Chrome, but no big deal, i like chrome simplicity, so it is ok for me . - Sandbox; Chrome main security feature which made it very secure, FF decided to implement it lately, which is good anyway. - Multiprocess: again chrome used it since ages, which is also needed for implementing the sandbox. so...copy or not copy? that is the question
Hmm yeah that's right, every browser in these days runs a sandbox, or have the same GUI aspect as other or have Multiprocess.. oke now you have helped me out, i was struggling a bit. nothing to worry about Thanks! Cheers.
Firefox claims to keep your privacy. I loaded the beta version on a Windows 10 pc and I really liked it. Can't wait for the release version tomorrow, I'll be using it on my own pc. not liking Google much these day's. They are too intrusive into my personal affairs
Thats why i love FF because they respect the users with there Privacy!.. it's not like Google (always spying on you) Mozilla Firefox is 100% Privacy Friendly, it really respects your Privacy! Welcome to FF, and do you want even more Privacy, use uBlock origin with the Default filters enabled, and enable 'Tracking Protection' in the Options menu in FF 57+ Cheers*
I was on Mozilla for a long time way back when, when FF first came out I was reluctant because I liked the Mozilla browser better. I did go to FF after a time and I have been a FF die hard since I still have my Mozilla tee-shirt with the t-rex from a long time ago when I supported it
I was a Netscape user. I used Netscape Browser, then Netscape Navigator, Netscape Communicator, and then back to Netscape Browser. Firefox for me made sense. I have been using Firefox ever since they originally called themselves, Phoenix, Sun Bird, and FireBird. Anyone here remembers those days? I continue to use Firefox until they dropped the ball a few years back. Let's be honest, they really did drop the ball at one time since they used to have a very high resources usage and page load time was simply awful. However, Mozilla eventually resolved that a few years ago, but the memory of just how bad it once was for that brief time, scared a lot of folks away. Google Chrome was released at that time and Google wasted no time marketing their browser, taking advantage of Mozilla's slip-up (however, temporary). Opera Browser became my browser of choice since unlike Google, they were using Chrome's engine and even allowed you to install Chrome extensions, but minus all the junk and spying from Google. Opera Browser is still a good alternative, even today. But eventually, I decided to give Firefox another chance and that is when I discovered they had resolved all their previous issues. I have been using Firefox ever since then. Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57) is Mozilla's answer to finally take on Google Chrome. It is their most impressive browser to date and is faster than Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Opera, or even Safar. It uses fewer resources and loads even YouTube faster. Even on a Windows 32-bit system, which usually for a modern browser can be a bottleneck (in my opinion). I am seeing Firefox Quantum (Firefox 57), simply fly! I am very impressed by their new release and am glad they took the time to get it right.
Omgash, the more core's you have on your CPU (Processor) the more Firefox will speed up and become more smoother to work with.. time to buy a 8-core processor. just kidding i'm good with 4 core's right now xD Mozilla, is the company/maker of Firefox..? or was there a difference between the two? Hmm and where can you buy that tee-shirt.. 'Cheers.
