Compare with other present day o.s.'s? The only o.s. that was buggy as Windows 10 was Windows M.E., except 10 seems to be in some kind of never ending perpetual beta, where it's entire user base are the guinea pigs
Dont just look for alternatives, actually try them. I was expecting to have to use 10 on coffee lake but i decided to try 8.1 1st. Installed from usb3 key and port with no modifications, no driver updater packs, no hacks or messing around with ps2 keyboards. People are going from 7 to 10 without realising there was an os inbetween them.
Computer industry with its two components hardware and software, are in the infant stage (life cycle) comparing to other industries. What makes it an industry with a long growth stage toward maturity is exactly the need of upgrades in hardware, services, and add-on products and features. It is an illusion to hope for a magic mature product in this arenas. life is everyday problem solving. No problems to solve then no life. This website exemplify my maxim
it's bugs like these which make window 8.x look like a more complete os, even if it was a crippled windows 7. @Joe C, you're right about 10 being a never ending beta.
compared to windows 8.x, 10 is a mess. it went to pot when they started the insiders thing. windows 8.x was nice and stable and didn't have too much bloat. all they seem to do to 10 is break stuff and add more useless crap.
@Joe C You are wrong, in my second post I didn't keep comparing windows 10 to anything nor did I justify it. Microsoft were among the first players in the computer arena for consumer (custom open system : CPU, memory , graphics and peripherals ). To use those systems Microsoft provided us with MSDOS and Windows ( this when the semiconductor industry was able to provide graphic chip). At that time nobody heard about Linux, Chrome or Apple. Today we have the choice, so I expect you to make your choice and stop complaining about what you didn't like. Microsoft from my knowledge is not begging you to buy nor install their product. No offense
Actually it was IBM but I am not going to continue with this. Your entitled to adore M$ with it's current Windows 10 if you wish. Don't worry.....Be happy. Many people (sheeple) like Windows 10 too.
ive come up from the vic20 commodore 64, the Amiga ,tape drives, a 1 meg hard drive, dial up a 7 baud modem , all the Microsoft systems , windows 10 is advanced and would be a great system if they built it for the user , with out all the tracking and adds selling you all the crap you don't want, i understand the theory behind tracking to offer you more choices but now you worry if there selling your information to people that shouldn't have it , I remember when you bought a computer for your amusement ,
yep I agree if Windows 10 was released in the same way as windows XP / 7 / and up to Windows 8.1 I would love to M$FT forever; but the way things are today I've already downloaded Ubuntu 18.10 just for testing because I'm heartbroken with the team of software engineers who instead of developing a more stable, reliable kernel, just like it was until Windows 8.1 but now when you click in the start menu it looks like a toy store and not an operating system ...
