is there a way to force install a KB/patch when SxS store is "corrupted" (since its modified) ?

I don't care on what manual ways, I just want to know how as CAB files contain these 1kb
files that make no sense, and bunch of them contain various UID's for registry
and its all a mess ....

or can I simply stiff MUM and MANIFEST files in their places and that would do it ? :p

Depends on how much its corrupted and the update contents

there is no 1 kb files

no, various registry entries controls the SXS components

So the regular dism /add-package:update.mum do not work for you?
and you want to force the instalation of the sub-packages (the other .mum files)?
