I mean I have stopped using Norton since 2005. When I bought for my brand new Dell and a license directly from Symantec for Norton Anti(89 euros back then, and 3 failed installs, no help when asked from Symantec why) . Had problems before in all versions since 2002 before. It never stopped what it was supposed to for one, and once the infection got on it would fail and ask for reinstall, failing to after that. It runs like total crap on system resources not to mention. I've been into PC's since the late 80's and my first 286-x86. Yes back then is how Norton got their name and was a great set of tools, and why I trusted them. Not now, not ever again though. Been using Avast over the past 5 years (first the free version, last 4 years paid version) and love it. Norton is a over advertised BS program for BS people, but then how would you only figure then..
+ 1 i completely agree about Norton .. when i bought my first computer.. it came with Norton.. and stuck with it .. but after so many infections.. i started to realize how horrible it truly was.. the only time it detected anything was after the Malware had been installed .. which was too late .. i haven't used Norton since the 07 version... and the resources it used to hog was horrible.. i haven't touched Norton since.. im not sure if they have improved their product since 07 .. but i can only speak about what i experienced using it in the past ..
