My vote goes for the 'Dancing Girls' Im getting a little bored over this issue and the confusion some people seemed determined to create. Basically anyone that's stays in the 'Inside Program' after RTM. WON'T have a 'Genuine' copy of Windows 10. Because they'll be on a new Build within a few days/weeks. And like all the Windows Betas/TP's/RC's or ever they decide to call them, they will be both 'Timebombed' and 'Activated' Plus, considering all the 'Bitching' and 'Moaning' that's been going on here over the last few months, because MS won't release a new build every day. I doubt if anyone here will be opting out. If most can't coupe with waiting 20/30 days for a new build. How would they stand waiting 3 years. Lastly, If like me your running Windows 10 on a PC that isn't eligible for the upgrade (Vista licensed Dell Optiplex) IF it gets the 'Free Upgrade' but is 'Non Genuine' I haven't lost anything. If I don't like the nagging I can go back to Vista Bussiness. IF it gets the 'Free Upgrade' and stays 'Genuine' I've lucked out.
Not sure I understand. Are you thinking insiders will get RTM before July 29th? Do you think their version will have the same Advanced WU for fast or slow updates which would make it definitely not what the rest of the world is getting and if not why couldn't you just stay part of the program and not upgrade to any of those test builds?
NO, I never mentioned anything about dates ??? Everyone is getting the same WU, what will verify is which sections are switched On/Off i.e. Business' delaying updates. Insiders switching between Fast/Slow rings. Everyone else using standard settings. If your not upgrading to the latest builds, are not really testing, are you?
I think all Insider will get a Evaluation copy of Final 07/29 build! That's really simple for everyone
No, all insiders get a final copy of RTM for free. Evaluation means timebombed and this is not the case with W10 RTM. Only thing is that insiders must use MSA, that easy
Evaluation copy activated is "activated", that's what I think, and maybe that's MS think before they edit that Blog post
again, eval versions of windows all are timebombed. Full RTM version do not have such thing on board and also has nothing to do with activation. Eval cannot be activated since it already comes activated by design and stops working after 90 days for example
Why does this keep on coming up??? It is "free" (and activated) if you own Windows 7 or Windows 8.X if you don't own a legitimate copy of these it is not free, even if you are testing Windows 10 in the preview. Now the actual hoops you have to go through to get your free copy activated or if you did a clean install of the preview and now you want to activate Windows 10 "RTM" we will have to wait and see when the times comes. Really but I doubt that for anyone on these forums that has a legal copy of Windows 7 or 8.X will have and problem jumping through those hoops. But I am also sure that some people may complain if they have to do a clean install or something to get the old licensing back. My plan is to reinstall my Windows 8.1 then upgrade to Windows 10 and then wipe and do a clean Windows 10 install. Yes it is a hassle but I think that in the end it will provide the best user experience for me. One last thing pirates even get the upgrade but they have to pay to activate... I don't think they are going to make any preview program loop holes.
Its articles like that, that are causing half the problems. The author managed to get two 'Facts' wrong in the first two paragraphs. 1. No one has ever said Windows 10 (or any other OS) would be 'updated forever' 2. Its a 'Blog Post' they talking about not a program. I didn't bother reading any more...
I don't know for sure but Windows Insiders that roll back to 10130 probably need to under Microsoft sign, their is listed verify, where they call you and give you code, might have to do the for MSA's, not sure, But would just in case.
There will be people who will enjoy their free Windows 10 and there will be people who won't I really don't care what you "believe".
