Small problem, I created an image with the utility of Windows 7 but it not allow me to create recovery media that is not a DVD. How can I restore my computer if necessary?? Hi have a netbook without dvd player and don't want to buy an external device.
You're going to have to create some sort of bootable media; maybe a flash drive will work. Booting from an external optical drive definitely works. An examination of all my computers (two are netbooks) show an optical drive is required to create a System Repair Disk. Maybe you can hack your registry to allow the use of another type drive. But you'll have to get help on that from other members. That's over my head ...way over my head.
Ok, I did a clean install and now the system is more responsive. But now I no longer have Sony software, Vaio media, vaio gate etc. Any idea to recover???
Already looked, but some applications may not be offered for reinstallation due to copyright restrictions. http ://support.vaio.sony.eu/computing/vaio/downloads/preinstalled/index.aspx?l=en_GB&m=VPCYB1S1E_S
In practice, some software is not available as a download because of copyright issues. Sorry for my bad english but I use google translate.
How's that working for you? As to the crapware not being downloadable, I've never seen crapware for which there wasn't a better, free, alternative. There's even at least one list of such software on this forum along with download links and hints about the programs and installation. There's a reason this stuff is called crapware or bloatware. Many times it's a trial that once the time limit passes you have to pay to keep it ... and by then you're hooked. I still say you should have just uninstalled what you didn't want and keep what you wanted. Now you have neither.
