After using the MS provided Win 10 pro to upgrade the notebook which the original OS was Windows 7 sp1 and was successfully got a permanently activated. Then I made a fresh reinstallation of the Win 10 pro on the same device with the same OS provided by MS. This time I made a respective size change of the partitions of the hard disk, then I found my device was not activated after installation!
Well, is this change of the hard disk partition would affect the HWID?

Was this a change due to GPT, or you actually changed them. People are saying they have changed the HDD, upgraded from a MBR and went to GPT with clean and had no problems. I lost it going from single MBR to a RAID GPT. So I haven't found out what was the problem.

Just thought I'd ask so someone can see if that was the case.

It will be not activated if you didn't use an MS Account! I was try that on one of my machines and only after changing to that MS Account, the activation wer done immediately!
