my views are probably known here, but here we go again. this is first step of googoo corporation's so called world domination. actually taking control of android. my guess is that some point google forces manufactures to lock bootloaders, at that point android is like worm eaten rotten apple's ios, which is totally controlled and overbearing. in a longer future, android users go to fuchsiaos. but some users go to harmonyos (fixed from: symphonyos) or some new os variant, being too closed systems however. and some users but smaller group go to free os like gnu/linux or freebsd. however, these changes may not be bad, beacuse these may lead actually free and open systems in the end. edit 2021-09-14: fixed symphonyos to harmonyos. symphony os has almost nothing to do with smartphones.
