While I was there I grabbed a key to VS 2008. My eval is running out. The key I got won't upgrade the eval. The key is for VS 2008 Pro and I have that installed.
For anyone that might have been having the same problem as me. Uninstall Visual Studio and then install using the key you got. Once I did that the eval was turned into full version.
grrr..... epic phail.... its not working.. been trying for about a week now, every chinese proxy i could find, different browsers and everything, always get a timeout with the universitys login. could someone get me a couple server serials please? Many Thanks, Johnathan Benko
John, welcome to the board. So you have tried for a week? But you just joined today? The proxy you use must accept Https: Which one have you tried? I don't mind helping here and there, but I never send more then one key, sorry about that.
well, i tried a whole list of em from a proxy site and then i started trying ones listed here, but no luck oh well, ill just give up
I just got it to work using my real university internet, may be able to let others activate through a vpn server after christmas break.
hi ya, I've my own university account and already grabbed a key off dreamspark site. Anynoe tried the Win2008 Std key on an Enterprise installation and actually got all features activated?
Keys from this method is valid for both standard and enterprise editions.... No locked/blocked features!
I also managed to get a key. It was somewhat easy, but I'm afraid that isn't what I'm looking for. I would like to have a key for x64 (64-BIT) versions. From what I can see, that isn't possible. I tried the key, with no luck. Do you know a site where you can do something similar like this, but for 64-BIT keys? I only use WS2008 x64, so... I hope someone can help me. I'm willing to pay a couple of dollars (I'm talking about 1-5 or something, not 100) if someone helps me achieve a working key. Thank you!
The key works for 64bit versions. I am running 2008 Enterprise 64bit. What you have to do is install the OS without inputting a product key during install. Select the option to install with no key. Once the OS is up and running then change the key and activate.
Yes tell them you got it from Dreamspark if you have to talk to an operator, otherwise the automated system works.
Thanks Cloaked, I am running W2008EE x64 as well and had to do the same thing, no key during install, but afterwards, add it right in and wallah!
Really? That would be great! Well, I see no reason why it shouldn't work - so thank you very much!! I'm going to try it out and once it works, I'm going to get some more keys to keep me safe for a while. Thank you! EDIT: Nice! I managed to get 2 extra keys (total = 3) in a few more minutes. This is kinda easy. Going to try and get 10 keys, that way I'm safe enough. I can still use them while they haven't been used for months? Or will they expire when they are not used in a certain period? EDIT: I just managed to get 10 keys. It was quite easy except for the fact that the proxy-server I used got down 2 times. But hey, it's an easy catch - so it was worth the wait. Thank you all!
