I'm not sure if it works in the last two days, as i'm getting the same ERROR with different proxy's when i click on China-CERNET: The requested URL could not be retrieved -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- While trying to retrieve the URL: idp.msuniversity.edu.cn:443 The following error was encountered: Connection Failed The system returned: (110) Connection timed outThe remote host or network may be down. As Cloaked mentioned, the server is down at the moment. People waiting for keys from me will get them as soon as the server is back up.
thanks everyone, the server seems to be down, so if possible can some one PM me a key in case some one has extra, also i guess 2-3 use of same key might not get it blacklisted
If the scheme from server 2003/2003 R2 is continued Im afraid thats a NO. But we are allowed the hope of it working
How do you know that the server has not just been pulled offline on purpose? I wish I had an ISIC number.
Really we don't know, we have been using it since October, so I really can't say if they yanked it or not. It's not the first time it has stopped so we just need to check again after a few days. If they did pull it, well we had a great run, I gave out so many keys to those that needed it, that I tend to wonder how many are still using Server 08... It has been my main OS since I learned the BIOS SLIC (which is what brought me to MDL in the first place) with my board. Some of you that don't want to wait for the University to come back, if you really want it, try the Bios Mod trick. and adding the certs and all. I will check on it later but 4 months of free keys that's a good record imho
Ah fair enough! I was just one key short on what I needed. Still you are right, cant complain though.
Well, I for one hope the site goes back up, since I didn't have the chance to get a key.. no matter what I tried, it allways timed out on me...
Well, I'm running Windows Home Server right now, with a 120 day trial, and would like to get that activated somehow, but, if Server 2008 has a 64bit edition, I think that could be of better use for my media server... its just that I've finally got my server setup the way I want it, and it could be a pain having to re-do it, especially with how Home Server uses a 'drive pool' method, and I've got 5.5 of 6 TB full...
Hmmm WHS that's a new one, are you using that as your main OS right now? WHS is based on 2003 edition and 2008 has been solid for me as a workstation. I have used Standard and Enterprise and both work extremely well. Wow 5.5TB?? What in the world do you have on your computer, I have over 3tb of space and I am not even using half of that.
No, WHS is my server, I'm using Vista Ultimate on my main system, Vista Home Premium 64 on my laptop.. My main system will soon be Ultimate 64, so I can make use of all 4 gig of ram... The server is to store my ripped movies and music, about 4 TB alone, and the rest is backups of all 5 computers in the house, and other misc crap.. I'm thinking about adding even more to the server, so I can rip all my software, and store them as iso's on the server, so that I can get rid of all the old CD's and DVD's... but soon enough, I'm going to be looking for some method of holding 10+ hdd's, never mind the actual computer aspect of the server.. LOL...
Wha, I hope you are using some form of RAID5 or RAID10, for speed and redundancy! I would hate to lose a drive, and lose all of that data.....:|! Jonathan
