I have been trying to get a key for a while now

once i get an activation is there a way to back it up so i dont have to go through this every time i dump my hard drives

 

Perhaps you should try adding something useful instead of begging on this thread.

Befriend someone like Slick or a kids with a login.

Unfortunately Regina I have to agree, now that the method is not working people are resulting in insults to those that helped before but can't access more keys now.

Those of you that are new and are coming in just for this post, the fastest way anyone of us will ignore your request is insults, or flaming. The forums are about sharing, so for those of you that have nothing better to do but insult the Moderators, and the residents of the board, please go somewhere else. Maybe one day this will return, till then sorry everyone, those that waited or found us too late we have tried to help everyone but alas can not.

 

Since I'm reading that there's problems connecting with that one school, probably a waste of time for asking, but what the hey.

I originally had a key via this method, and installed it on an older system. (Just wasn't sure if I wanted to keep it as 2003 was working fine for my server uses.) Turns out I actually liked it. Went and upgraded the hardware from an old Athlon XP to a beefier quad-core with a lot more muscle. Reinstallation obviously failed from the one-shot keys.

Does anyone happen to have a spare that they're willing to part with? I just need the one. If not I'll just re-do with Server 2003, but there's a few new features that I really like.

If it's only used once just use phone activation, MS will reactivate your system for you

 

I was curious about going that route, but was paranoid about the anti-piracy gestapo kicking my door down I'll give it a go, thanks.

 

Nothing to do with Piracy, you got the key from Dreamspark which is a MS site

 

Then close this, it doesnt work anyway.
Better post things that work.

It did work in October, obviously you have no manners, so don't tell people how to behave when you are too late. I still had some keys and I wouldn't give you one if you begged.

I think the idp.msuniversity.edu.cn server was taken down. I keep pinging it and nothing.

I needed a key (well 2 would be nice).

Does upgrading an existing non activation Windows 2008 Server with an DELL OEM_SLP prepared DVD work? I've tried installing the certificates but it's not working and I've done way too much stuff with the server to wipe it.
