    On XP went to

    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Antimalware\SpyNet

and set value to "0" and now nothings checked on SpyNet in MSE. Seems to work fine on XP. I'll do it later on my Win7 partition.

Yeah, winxp has less stringent registry protection than win7.

    Exactly.

So, lets make some reviews about the MSE and post here, ok?

Now i have windows 7 x86 with all security features turned on (default from system instalation) and the MSE instaled as well.

I made some tests here and the security app has the system under control.

I think its going to be my "only one" security soft installed working with the O.S. security services.

Maybe i turn off the windows firewall and install some other firewall more effective.

Testing with some friends, the windows firewall has no way to stop nuke/invasion or something else.

    Sorry about my english.

As soon as possible I will post here a full review with tests and other things.

    see ya.

MS is a corporation that wants to make money? NO WAY.

MS Security Essentials is the best AV I have used. It doesn't have a bunch or extra crap and it just sits in the background unless there is a problem.

I think that all the threads have to do with MSE antivirus must removed and opening in the Software section, as this software is running under XP and Vista also.

download the 32 bit version, it should install. It should be backwards compatible. The only difference is that it wouldn't take advantage of 64 bit architecture.

This IS a W7 forum, maybe you should have asked in the XP forum?

Maybe you should upgrade to Windows 7 x64 while you are at it!

    Just a thought.
