Just tried to use Ghost 12.0.0.7026 from winpe cloning a 3TB to 3TB. Ghost kept wanting to resize partitions. Exact size, model hdd & firmware. No need for resizing. It should be smart enough to know not to resize partitions marked as hidden recovery anyway. I also tried using -NTEXACT switch but that made no difference. I can't be bothered re-adjusting the sizes myself so used "Image for Windows" without issue. Sheesh! * Just noticed that my "Image for Windows" clone does have an issue. Yes it's GPT, Tools, EFI, MSR & Recovery partitions are correct but the Windows partition is 2Tb leaving around 740Gb unallocated. Ok, with an uninitialized 3TB the windows partition is shrunk but if I initialize as GPT 1st & then clone it works to full capacity. You've got to check everything these days!
the ghost32 & ghost64 from GSS 3.0 beta are version 12.0.0.6284. if you have current maintenance for Ghost Solution Suite, the latest version you get would be build 6287. both versions do support GPT/UEFI, but you must boot in UEFI mode to get ride of 2.2T limit in single partition. you can simply use "boot disk creator 3" to get winpe 5.1 x64 media with uefi support. my procedure: 1. change boot sequence in bios: cd-rom before hard-disk 2. enable secure boot in bios and use MS DVD to clean install win 8.1 ent x64 on Acer E5-472G 3. boot with winpe 5.1 x64, use ghost to "select disk to image" and then use "diskpart" to clean this hard disk. it can successfully* backup. 4. reboot & boot with winpe 5.1 x64 again, use ghost to "disk from image" and it can successfully* restore. *in front of bckup procedure ghost shows "Encountered an NTFS volume with a logfile that has not been flushed". i just use the "-NTIC" & "-NTIL" switch to suppress the warning cause i am sure my drive doesn't need check disk. **if restore to ssd, you may get error number 8027, just use the -NOTRIM switch with the Ghost executable.
everyone can alos extract symantec_deploymentsolution_7_6_x64.msi & gets clean ghost32, ghost64, ghostexp, ghostexp64 & even ghostsrv build 7026. i replace those files to "boot disk creator 3" & then get winpe 5.1 x64 media with uefi support. due to lack of time, i try to backup/restore ASUS UX301LA but not clean-installed: 1. in bios override boot sequence to cd-rom 2. boot with winpe 5.1 x64, use ghost to "select disk to image" and it can successfully backup. ps. use the "-NTIC" & "-NTIL" switch to suppress the warning "Encountered an NTFS volume with a logfile that has not been flushed". 3. close ghost64 & then use "diskpart" to clean this hard disk. 4. reboot & boot with winpe 5.1 x64 again, use ghost to "disk from image" and it can successfully restore. ps. use the -NOTRIM switch to get ride of error number 8027 when restoring to SSD.

Hello, thanks for this I have just done ghost-snapshot compare using: ghost32.exe version 12.0.0.7031 snapshot.exe version 1.43.0.17653 from windows7 based live Rescue CD - partition backup to second internal HD 1. ghost using fast compression image size:13.048 MB time :10:14 (min:sec) 2. snapshot using default parameters image size:6.814 MB time :3:26 (min:sec) regards, test performed:22.04.2015
Where does one get this msi? sebus But ghost is still the one that does client/server multicast, and the only one with single executable to run in Linux (and nothing beats this)
From trialware - you described it in post 26 I believe, it was updated just the next day... Edit: msi added
Had some time so I did a little test over my lan. Ghost 12.0.0.7031 (Fast), WinPE 10.0.10041, Full UEFI drive just syspreped: Unicast image to Server : 2:23 * Unicast image from Server to SSD: 4:09 ** Unicast image from Server to HDD: 2:51 * There was a warning that a log file was not flushed before image commencement. ** There was a delay at the start, SSD with trim detected (executing Trim on unused sectors). Image wrote in around 2:09 but then there was another delay with disk layout Ghost backed up 10GB of Data to 6.11GB with Fast (-z2) compression.
