Hello everybody, I have an old Computer for XP Games with a GIGABYTE P35-DS3 and i have some issues which, from what i believe are caused by the storage controller(s). here are the storage drives present: INTEL Sata II Controller: -Port 0: SSD (OS DRIVE) -Port 1: HDD -Port 2: DVD Drive GIGABYTE JBMicron SATA/IDE(?) Controller -IDE Port 1: DVD Drive Floppy Port 1: 1.44MB Diskette Drive Port 0/1 are AHCI-enabled. The Issue: -general slowdowns when doing stuff such as exploring the filesystem, installing big programs and the first few seconds the OS Starts up. -Complete System Freezes (rare) -Audio Buffer Corrupts when using Intergrated Audio Chip Things I Tried: -Set IDE Mode -Put the SSD in the other controller (Same exact thing) -BIOS Optimized Defaults -BIOS Update to latest version F14 (2009) using a Brand New Floppy Diskette with zero bad sectors -Booting off a HDD instead of a SSD Tested OSes: -Ubuntu 12.04 -Windows 7 (64 bit) -Windows XP (Both 64 and 32 Bit) Notes: -Problem gets a hundred times worse when installing the Chip-Set Drivers from the Gigabyte DVD that came with this exact Motherboard -There is a single capacitor right above the Pci-Express slot that has seemed to leak. -NorthBridge Heatsink gets EXTREMELY Hot. System Specifications: -Core 2 Quad Q9650 -4GB DDR2 -ATI 2600 PRO I'd Appreciate any help in advance
