One more thing: the "lunatics shooting at each other" are doing it because the lunatics in the successive USofA govs decided to goad Russia into a conflict and to fight their proxy war in Ukraine - to the last Ukrainian!

If this is how you "think deeply" about these serious issues, then I must tell you that you are swimming on the surface, bro...

Won't bother responding to your butt hurt retorts in the other post it serves no purpose! Ok pinky!
YesI know the USA is in the middle of everything like arming Bin laden to fight the Russians in Afghanistan. Nothing new to see there. The point I was making is that it's the same incompetence that you see on exhibit now that was responsible for chernobyl! You can find more here https://www.history.com/news/chernobyl-nuclear-disaster-7-people-who-played-crucial-role

    @ Gorski

Go placidly amid the noise and the haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible, without surrender, be on good terms with all persons.

Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even to the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons; they are vexatious to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain or bitter, for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.

Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.

Exercise caution in your business affairs, for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals, and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself. Especially do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment, it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth.

Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.

Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here.

And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be. And whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life, keep peace in your soul. With all its sham, drudgery and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy.

Global warming is a natural cycle of planet earth !!! how many ice ages have we had without man even being on this earth and for each ice age we had global warming and it was proven there was plant life on both poles !! those are facts !!!! you cant stop global warming !!!! but what we can do is stop pollution which may speed up global warming !! how can one Denie the ice age happened several times and global warming happened between each cycle ? we are now in another warming cycle now !

On the bright side - if "only" we'd divert military budgets and fossil fuel industry's worldwide subsidies towards renewables, R&D and all that is necessary in terms of the infrastructure, I'd say it would take us less than a year to be using renewables and renewables only, stop a huge amount of pollution from ICE and more, much more towards leaving a healthier planet to our kids and their offspring...

And how about this for a jolly, "clean", green idea: https://interestingengineering.com/high-flying-kites-power-wind-energy

"Unlike fixed wind turbine towers that require concrete and steel structures, kite-based systems have a lightweight tether and a small ground station, requiring 90 percent less material. "The benefits arise from that," Bauer says.

This was illustrated in a study by Airborne Wind Europe — which found that a 50-megawatt kite farm would use 913 metric tons of material over a 20-year life span, compared to 2,868 metric tons for a typical wind tower farm.

Kitekraft's kites are primarily made of aluminum, which is easily recyclable. In contrast, the materials typically used in conventional wind turbines, such as steel and carbon or glass fiber reinforced plastics, are difficult to recycle. Although Kitecraft's rotors are made up of carbon fiber, their tiny size makes recycling the blades much easier."

Onshore or offshore - the system is flexible...

""As a result, it's easier to manufacture and transport, and the carbon footprint is substantially less. That's one of the issues the wind industry has right now. Steel is quite energy-intensive to make and emits carbon. Prices for concrete and steel are also high," Bauer explains. "We use 10 times less material compared to conventional wind turbines to get the same unit of energy."

Kitekraft's kites are equipped with eight motors that power the device during takeoff and landing. They are then utilized as generators during the flight. A power electronics control unit stabilizes the kite and generates power efficiently."

We have already seen huge trucks for mining purposes, now they are envisaging "infinity trains", running on "gravity batteries":

Speaking of huge trucks not polluting like crazy, here's another version of it:

Nuclear power is all well and fine.

But what happens in the event in a meltdown? We seen it at Three Mile Island, Chernobyl, and Japan, what are the ramifications of that? death, radiation poisoning for decades to come, birth defects , leukemia, cancer for generations to come and the list goes on and on.
Then, where do we dump all the spent fuel rods that will give off radiation for hundreds of years that are currently being buried or stored deep inside mountains that are already poisoning the earth just from the limited sites that we now have , picture thousands of more plants , what do we do with it all? Ah yes .... shoot it off into space, it's not enough we polluted our planet , let's start polluting our galaxy too!

Just like everything we humans do, at first we may be careful then we get careless, money hungry, corners are cut on construction of power plants and and disposal of radioactive materials , then before you know it, we have a major disaster.

Nuclear power is not the future ........ smh , you want clean air? cancel the human race, WE are the scourge of this planet.

NOTHING is truly GREEN , somewhere in the process of going green there WILL always be something that will produce a negative effect on our environment. Our "Green New Deal" is just a super pac that is doing nothing but making the super rich even richer. G20 is nothing but scare mongering and governments angling themselves for money form dupes like me and you to be spent on global warming that will never even make it there.

I am not saying we hold no responsibility towards global warming because we do to an extent, but our planet goes through cooling and warming cycles naturally, we just helped speed up the process a little but it would have happened eventually anyway ..... even without our help.
Even IF, we did not ever pollute our surroundings or as to our current situation, if we worked to correct and clean our environment for the next fifty years, global warming IS still going to happen ... no matter what, there is nothing anyone can do about it , all the smartest scientific minds on the planet cannot stop it .
If you want to TRULY go green, then we need to go back to horse and buggy, living by candle light and warming our homes with wood fire, and technology? well you might as well just forget about it, all those tech dumps that no one pays attention to created in third world countries are just destroying their surroundings.

And what comes after the warming? ...... our next ice age, then the human race will start crying we need to generate more heat to stop the ice age and the super rich will say give us your money and we will take care of it.... lol.

It doesn't take trillions of dollars to figure out ..... just a little common sense.

You (and not just you - anyone!) have no data to back up such prejudices ("the next such-and-such a period would have happened in the next 50 years naturally, with or without us...")! Nonsense! Pure nonsense!

We have been altering the climate since the invention of agriculture, i.e. serious, radical ecocide via radical deforestation, killing off species, demolishing the natural balance etc.

It all escalated with industrial revolutions, better medicine, more food available, then use of fossil fuel for energy in transport and agriculture and so on and on...

Natural cycles are much slower than what we are seeing today, as exacerbated in the last 200 years or so... The changes are really rapid!

Ergo, we ought to take our role seriously and seriously change our tech and economy generally! YESTERYEAR!!!

Wow, I really dislike when people only read and comprehend what they want, you MISSED the entire point .........

1.) IT WILL HAPPEN ANYWAY with or without us. But there is no stopping it.
2.) I never said we had nothing to do with it, what I said is we sped up the process.
3.) I never said it will happen in the next 50 years, I SAID if we used the next 50 years to clean this planet up IT WILL STILL HAPPEN

    Reading is fundamental.
