Ehh? I can open any program supporting multiple instances from Win7 taskbar. What are you talking about? Right-Click is your friend... (Psst it's right above the "Pin/Unpin" option)

That requires two distinct mouse actions.

you can open multiple instances of programs easily with the new taskbar just click your mouse wheel down. It opens a new instance.

shift + click opens new instance
ctrl + click changes focus between instances

but i haven't found a way to start as admin cmd-prompt when it's pinned to taskbar
    from quick-launch you can

    --edit--
shift + right click good old menu :D

It's probably more accurately the middle mouse button if you have it. Don't know though. I don't have a scroll wheel on my trackball, nor a mouse with a middle button.. :p

I dont really get installing a new OS and then making it act like the older ones...

But OK different people, different taste... I absolutely do respect that!

Must say, at first, I didnt like the new taskbar at all but after having worked with it for a few weeks getting to know it better I find its a great improvement over the "old" way.....

Huge THX for the shortcuts mentioned in this thread which I didnt stumble upon till now.

I say if its what everybody knows and has worked for 15 years, why change it. I changed my win 7 to the vista look though there's nothing wrong with 95/98/millennium/2000/xp either-its what everybody knows. The new 7 taskbar is pretty eye candy IMHO and that's about it and to confuse anyone you let use your computer.
