I am not optimistic about your motherboard at all.

lol. I doubt if anyone is.

I don't think you will be able to fix this temp issue. Have you used the latest BIOS for your "junk" motherboard?

One thing it could be, that AUX temp could be caused if you are using the on board GPU. try a discrete video card and see if the temp drops.

BTW your your motherboard isn't junk, there is probably nothing wrong with it and I wouldn't hesitate to run it. In fact I advise you run it pretty hard between now and the warranty expiration.

Then, the ultimate answer for this topic is yes, your cooling is good. I think the culprit here is your cheap FoxConn motherboard and faulty Gigabyte VGA. So, enjoy while they are working and then replace them with something decent.

cool. I have some more questions for you if you dont mind. I was thinking of just simply upgrading my mobo with something really cheap, but highly efficient at overclocking my processor so i can get the max out of this q6600 while on air-cooling. I dont hardly know anything about mobo's at all. Any suggestions?

One small query with some background:
    1. Hardware: Coolermaster box with 450 W PSU; core i7920, 4 HDD, Nvidia 9800 GT, 2 DVD writers.
    2. In the hot Delhi summer (>100F), using hardware monitor (hjb.. software), core i7 920 idle temps are now exceeding 50-55 C, and even at 80-90C with video rendering. Fans running at 100%, HDD at 40-45 C all the time, Nvidia at 50-55 all the time. I see high temps with core i7 only. Nvidia does go up to 60 C at the max.

Is it time to up the PSU to say 600W. What should I do. Pls. advice so that I can get it done today or on the weekend.

I agree with this. Avoid Gigabyte.

Got an X58A-UD3R GigaByte board powering this machine and it's all you could ask for in a board. just don't enable EuP as it can play havoc with overclock settings, making them reset etc.

Your motherboard has X58 LGA 1366 chipset which is far more advanced than P45 which is for LGA 775. Anyway, between Asus or Gigabyte, I would choose the Asus. The decision is on PSYBORG.

I have never had a bad board from gigabyte, however read the reviews for the individual boards. They all make lemons occasionaly.

Well I'm saying the board quality and design has been great, which isn't neccessarily chipset specific.

Let me fix the confusion, Im not sayin I heard bad reviews on all gigabytes, just this Gigabyte GA-EP45T-UD3LR in particular. I have seen a few ones that I heavily considered tho,

How much did your board cost Hazar? And will it support the q6600?

Oh ok, I see it on newegg for 209. Thats waaayyyyy outside my poor budget. lol
