I'm also eager to try. First thing is to get the cab's for 1809, and the dependencies. I'm looking to get Edge running. This is a little over my head so I'll have to wait until someone with more experience chimes in. Cheers.
The old script for 1607 didn't work -- resulted in error 0x8000FFFF. New script works like a charm. Thank you
Can you please expand a bit? Do you mean Edge can be added by downloading the IDM extension? Or did you get the cabs? Cheers.
Extracted the WinSxS packs (main and localization) from 1809 Enterprise and installed with TI elevated DISM on my Notebook (upgrade from LTSB 2016). There already exists a solution here, only needs the new packs. A WU update is offered afterwards.
Would you mind to share your packs or outline the procedure to extract the packs? You likely used Auntie Mel's SxS extractor? For me it would be the Spanish one. Cheers.
I'm using this. Note this part: WinSxs extractor (on/offline) by KNARZ Just put this in the ImportList.txt: Code: Microsoft-Windows-Internet-Browser-Package
@s1ave77: That was to easy Worked perfectly. For those wanting to go that route, there is one minor issue that needs correcting. Open the "definitions.cmd" and edit the MUI part. If you don't, you won't get the corresponding language package that is needed. The script defaults to en-US but mine needed to be set to es-ES. Anyway, having the source files, I can now proceed with installing Edge using TI method outlined earlier. I would also recommend adding the reg key found by Xinso to avoid having issues with CU's. Cheers.
Sure, but they are Spanish. It would only be of use with a localized 1809 image. If you want I can up them to Mediafire. Cheers.
