Again, I ask the question, why bother?
Can you not just delete or not install what you don't want from the Windows_InsiderPreview_Server_vNext_en-us_17623 version?
Is it the time bomb that is the problem?

ServerFull have more packages related to server management compare to Server ACore/Core with just gui added
its like LTSB RS4 version without server tools so much and less metros added
so its kinda some of win win

on the papers there not much different, but then waiting to server 2019 to have gui, which ok for most...

yea its not worth the time cos the timebomb, but xinso like to experience, i wont give it a try, im waiting to ACore RS4 RTM

So are you saying that removing those management packages from the GUI version I listed above, is harder than adding packages to the non-GUI version??

IMHO better to convert UUP -> WIM and then extract...

I've managed to port AppServer Feature to 17623 ServerDatacenter. It is enabled, but it won't work for lack of ProductPolicy: TerminalServices-RemoteConnectionManager-AllowAppServerMode 1

    Workaround:
    1. Modify ProductPolicy and disable sppsvc service
    2. Patch AppServer files

And Remote-Desktop-Services' 120 days limit needs to be solved.

Delete the TIMEBOMB from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\RCM\GracePeriod every 120 days ... but you still have to reboot your PC at least once every 120 days

You probably knew this already though, if not I hope it helped

    Install Child-packages listed in

    Microsoft-Windows-Enterprise-Desktop-Shared-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.16299.15.mum
    Microsoft-Windows-Enterprise-Desktop-Shared-WOW64-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~10.0.16299.15.mum

(You can overlook unnecessary packages like Microsoft-Windows-DesktopFileExplorer-Package.)

    then the related language packs.
