    Yes. But we don't know where the referencing infomation is located in.

    I'd tried to modify index 3 of Core_en-us.esd to no avail. It becomes useless.

    I don't think it'll work. Just compression rate.

    To install only wanted Child-packages:

    Microsoft-Windows-EditionSpecific-Core-Package for example

    You don't want Microsoft-Windows-Help-ClientUA-Core-Package

    Delete it from update.mum

    P.S. Some package has both amd64 and WOW64 packages, you need to check and delete in both.

    But you need to delete the original files in WinSxS (or remove original packages), otherwise, it will be reverted after reboot.

    You're right. This happened before.after listening to you, I learned that the reason was that the original files in WinSxS were not deleted.. Thank you.
