Hey guys, I managed to activate Windows 8.1 PRO using a key found on the web and after that i have added the WMC key from the Microsoft Giveaway earlier on Windows 8 days. Using this method, will i be able to restore the backup store folder and activate the Windows 8.1 Pro or i screwed up adding the WMC key ?
The script worked like a charm, but the installation keeps telling me that the product key I want to use is not matching with the one in the ISO, but I am 100% it is because I checked it in the Windows 8.1 Pro installation I took the DATs from. Any idea about how to sort this issue out?
I have a few questions,I did copy that folder store can activate ? 1 - I changed the hard drive with an SSD 2 - windows change build number
I've tried this method tonight, several times, on my Win8 Pro + WMC machine without success (upgrade version on Windows 7 key). The hardware it's the same ofc. Any suggestion?
if I make change to system make name and system product name in bios using amidewin , lets say from asus to hp or fijutsu ,without changing hardware will I be able to reactivate windows 8 by restore process?
would this work if we wanted to go to windows 8.1 from windows 8 and do a clean install?? i have a freinds asus laptop here and we dont know the oem key? thanks
I doubt you could back a 8.0 and activate a 8.1. I replied in the other thread you was asking about how to get the key, just format to 8.1- use a 8.1 key to install and then use the 8.0 key from the bios to activate.
i was going to wait until 8.2 came out.. from what i hear.. M$ finally realizes 8.0 is decrepit. guess i'll dual-boot win7 and 8.1. Ty for your kind help. ====================== EDIT: December 23, 2013 Default OS: Win8.0 did as described in this tutorial > but installed 8.1 RTM image > and worked flawlessly. Thank YOu Jaguar .. incredible ======================= EDIT: December 24, 2013 - back up entire spp folder i just reformatted again and tried copying just the 3 files as stated on the first page and did not work. fortunately, i saved the entire spp folder. and had to copy the entire contents, then it worked. in addition, for OEM, you'll have to reenter the OEM key.
