Of course? Why doesn't booting into Safe Mode (or using something like Active Boot) and replacing the files work? Surely a reinstall would be an absolute last resort unless it's a junk install. If a simple restore of the files doesn't work, waiting for the next KMS server would be preferable. Running with the watermark workaround would even be preferable.
Well all I can say is that the method works just fine. If done correctly it should work on any computer just fine. I can't help you further as the steps is easy to follow and contains all the vital information required. As a last final act to you all would be posting images of the steps that shows exactly hows it done. For now I'm on vaccation till the end of the week. Thanks for your patience!
I have Release Preview installed to my machine and successful activated RTM in VM. It is possible to copy store folder from VM to RTM after a clean install and it will be activated? The fact is that is the same hardware and should be theoretical working and I could have RTM activated.
I've always wondered what constituted new hardware that would negate a windows activation. I've once been plagued with this by swapping my win7 hard drive between two different PC's and thus loosing my activation, but what hardware is the cause of this? I'm assuming the motherboard since it's the basis of the entire PC. Can anyone shed some light on this for me?
but the question is, will it work with the transition of 32bits to 64bits? i'm doing the same thing and wanna be sure if it will work before doing it
Not working at all... Exact same system, exact same hardware, exact same drivers. After I did all the steps, windows says product ID: Not available. I formated 3 times, with no positive end.
I have multiple drives installed on my PC. I have a System Image of Win8 Pro originally activated and installed on HDD. I want to restore it to SSD on the same PC....Will I still be activated?
No, as you are going to change very important component of hardware. Windows 8 will get deactivated and need new activation.
