will this method backs up the activation done using MAK keys. Also unlike KMS do a small change in hardware like harddisk and still restore the activation??
No, does not works. As said in the first page be careful when upgrading drivers or any hardware. I was taken yesterday: My Entreprise version was activated and I installed a little software in order to add a RamDrive from Dataram. At reboot I was not genuine anymore. So I restored my activation backup, but no luck still non genuine. I save myself because I made a full partition backup few day ago. So after restoring partition, all ok. So it is clear that Windows 8 is very sensitive to any change. Read the warnings in the first post of this thread.
1. Activate using whatever solution you like. 2. Use Easus todo backup - 5 minutes backup of 20 Gb partition - 5 minutes restore it - best software in his class. 3. Go nuts install whatever you want you are safe.
Yeah I installed the same version of windows, and put files in correct place, could it be that something to do with the updates I installed, that were uploaded to another thread on this site.
It happend to me too when I replaced wzor iso with msdn and it didn't want to activate, it was my hdd driver...updated it and now is activated
Here is a good one for everyone. I had an extra ssd hard drive and installed Win8 proVL x64 on my Asus P8P67 pc and activated with the kms server when it was up. Today I took this drive and put it in my Asus G73Jh laptop with the intention of formatting and doing a new install. I booted up the laptop just to try it out and everything works fine but the biggest surprise is that the system is still activated. It has been over 3 hours now and the status remains activated. How can this still be activated.
Guys, I installed some software that made my activation go away. Lucky me, I created a restore point yesterday. After the restore point was activated and installed, now I have my windows activated again. So, that's a good option too. Regards!
Some that have not worked on replace an not activated. What I did and it worked several times. 1. make sure the internet is off... 2. slmgr.vbs -upk then your instantly not activated. 3. install what ever I want.... even swap laptop HDDs. 4. boot and check Activation - not activated. 5. replace all required Activation files... 5a. turn on the internet 6. checked System properties - Activated 7. no popup of need to activate 8. tested under VAMT2.. shows GVLK License Renewed..
seem like you need insert key using "slui 3" in cmd after ve' done every thing. It works fine with me
Use Advanced Tokens Manager to create and restore a copy of the activation forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/27341-Advanced-Tokens-Manager-The-Activation-Backup-Solution version 3.4 works well on Windows8 pl.rghost.net/39823403 Tested and works. Sorry for my english.
When restoring activations obtained via phone, does one still need to call MS again to validate keys even after replacing relevant files? No way to do otherwise?
I'm gonna try this as soon as I'll finish installing win 8 first time. Thanks a lot for detailed info.
