It is confirmed by me after testing; starting from IR4 & IR5 images, Windows Setup can recognize & accept 8 OEM: DM keys. I'll edit the first post soon.

    :tasty:

Edit - Would it be possible to just upgrade the Windows without removing other programs that are installed?

My friend's friend gave Lenovo B40-30 that came with preinstall Windows 8.1. His friend forgot Windows Login screen so he would like to do a clean Windows 8.1 installation. Since there's no way I can use Query Tool to see what version it was, I will just assume it's Win8.1 Core. I plan to use Win8.1 Core 9600.17053.winblue_refresh.141120-0031 / IR5, do I need $oem$ folder or no need? I guess the activation key should be in bios so it should automatically activates per noted in Post #1?
    Thanks

    1. Yes, the tool I linked doesn't work on Microsoft Accounts.
    2. Generating genuineticket.xml via gatherosstate is advised if you want to avoid upgrade install. Since you're going for a fresh install anyway & the PC comes with Windows 8.x (hence there should be MSDM key in corresponding ACPI table), Windows 10 will automatically recognize the SKU from the key.

I always thought I had to do the Win8.x first then get genuineticket.xml then finally install Win10. Thank you very much @Tito I will fresh install Win10 instead.

Aren't all Multiple Editions OEMRET, they all readout the MSDM and use it for activation.

Why would you want CSL when you have the option to simply install 8.1 Core and have it officially activated by the MSDM?

You can find all 8.1 Multiple Editions ISO's on the SVF2ISO tool: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/th...ver-2016-techbench.77028/page-54#post-1499389

    Or by ESD: https://forums.mydigitallife.net/threads/windows-8-1-with-update-esds-repository.53855/

The information shows that the MSDM key your system has internally is for CoreSingleLanguage. I doubt it would activate normal Core (Home) only CSL.

The 'No SLIC table' is normal for a W8.x/10 consumer system, plus on Lenovo they can hide the SLIC, (not used for w8.x/10 anyway).

The saved QT report on the desktop is safe to post as all keys etc are either not shown or only partially shown. I designed it to only show ALL data on the GUI display version so the user can make a note of the details such as full keys etc for their own records. If a valid MSDM is detected it also saves those details as a separate text file, never post that one!
