Teach a man to fish Diatribe It is very rare when someone solves my problem for me, here or anywhere. I know it's easier to think that there's some mythical group of data crusaders that goes around blocking all the data injustice in the world. In my experience, when you trust someone else's 'solutions' without verifying things yourself, you just have a false sense of security. So this is part of an issue. Someone wants someone to 'fix' something for them. The truth is that it's not that simple. Even if we 'fix' it, in a couple weeks, MS updates the software and a new 'fix' is required. So I try to encourage people to learn how to 'fix' things themselves; to learn how to search through the network monitor programs and add lines to hosts files themselves. I even made a script that can automate these changes to your hosts file. All you have to do is search for the violations yourself. That's not good enough, is it? That saying about teaching a man to fish doesn't apply here. It's just 'whine until someone does it for you'. I don't care for that attitude, and I don't think I'm alone.
Liberalism is a sin ehhh? How about common sense? Or checking of your facts? Well lets see Joe Mccarthy caused the Red Scare which had the slandering of people all over the United States. It made everyone super paranoid. Then we thought well I guess we have to start arresting everyone... Now we can get back on track because all of which I just stated are facts to which are not mere opinions. I don't abide by the Liberal way. I associate myself with being a moderate so that you can fact check parties along with the beliefs they stand for. Every person in our country should be doing that but I guess that's not how it should work and we should just roll the credits... (Credits Roll) Fear Tactics gooo...
Indeed, but also need a way to undo everything just as easily. I'll see if I can v2 our enable/disable script prototype. Then we can re-check things and see what we're missing. I'll probably just have the script + 2 loose cert files, but a final version would likely be a sfx so it can stay as a single file. gimme a bit, I'll see what I can work up.

You do that. I've opted for a varied menu system so people can test each individual thing to figure how if something as simple as the cert thing will solve most of the problems or not. We can use all the methods and scripting we can get right now. Then later we can figure out which stuff is the better ideas. I'm not approaching this from any sort of competition, just trying to get as many ideas as we can. More solutions are always better, at least till we figure out what exactly we need.
I'm just getting into Powershell so this may take a little while because I have much more experience in Batch. That being said I very much agree that way we can have both options. If we can get the host file edited with powershell which I have no doubt that you can.
