That is being determined right now because I have the ability to slip stream the entire script disabling into the pack. Even though I completely hate the Windows 10 Tech Preview I will go ahead and test some things on it. The TP looks like crap and has the worst integration of a theme I have ever seen. This OS makes me regret having any hardware even touch Windows 10 like apple software. Actually I'd rather have apple software and hardware touch my computers then Microsoft. I will endeavor to check the Windows 10 TP (9926) with the oem pack and scripting.
I'm going to check but at the present moment I'm seriously considering just ending anything thing that supports Windows 10. The OS looks like crap.
The biggest problem with Windows 10 at the moment is the bugs it has within it. I loaded up a custom OEM pack I've been testing and ran into issues with the way Powershell works. I'm tempted to wait until the OS is less flakey in its current form it is just about unusable. I'm also seriously thinking about switching from Windows to Linux for my main OS.
I'm pretty sure its wont be the Final GUI Microsoft just make some tests to find the line between old desktop GUI to metro its gonna be something Ok else its will be same old trick
I don't like the keylogger. The thing I don't like even more is people who disable it. Really guys, some of you would like to eat a cake and have the cake. It's preview OS, not even a beta and it's free... free because some users are interested in helping discover and reporting issues and want to share theirs thoughts. So if you don't want to help MS make better OS then just don't use it at all.
So android is beta OS ? cos there a lot of spying going on there beta / free apps doesn't mean its ok to put spyware spyware is Illegal no matter how u put it or how u name it or brand it how would u feel if ur company will have sent data by mistake to Microsoft and and same person from ms will sell it to another company our economy based on trust and if just one break it simply its breaks down all human race knowledge base is most value there it if someone have to access it just doesn't make sense its too much power
Those info are used to improve OS and to know what and how people use it. They told it straight, clear enough. If you installed preview you accepted those terms. Does anyone force you to use this free and unstable OS? You have the choice. To clarify: do you think they keep this "keylogger" function in RTM? Would you shoot your own knee? Mobile OS you said? Everyone knows about spying. Has this stopped people from using it? People wants to be trendy, have everything the newest, most expensive, good-looking because they think it will let them gain respect. That's sad. So cool, so secure, unbreakable encryption, blah, blah, blah. We don't share/collect any sensitive data. We also won't tell you about those new backdoors we just put in there. Almost forgot about usability: higher screen resolutions than average PC display, few GBs of RAM which doesn't speed up so badly written OS and non-replaceable battery which holds one day. People like it anyway. So smartphone. Have you ever received spam on your unique (not used anywhere else) e-mail address? Where did they get it from? People use the same password (often also login) everywhere. It's theirs choice. Do you remember what happend to Lavabit, TrueCrypt and Symbian? Have you ever wonder why?
"used to improve OS" - huh? A fresh (dez 14) windows 8.1 install after 2 months up and running: Code: - System - Provider [ Name] Microsoft-Windows-Kernel-Power [ Guid] {331C3B3A-2005-44C2-AC5E-77220C37D6B4} EventID 41 Version 3 Level 1 Task 63 Opcode 0 Keywords 0x8000000000000002 - TimeCreated [ SystemTime] 2015-01-31T19:40:49.154281700Z EventRecordID 46423 Correlation - Execution [ ProcessID] 4 [ ThreadID] 8 Channel System Computer My-PC - Security [ UserID] S-1-5-18 those 'improvement'-fairytales are just a joke, honestly! windows updates 2014 showed different results. that's what's happening outsourcing programming to cheapest possible countries, pita imho. and btw the IRQ freeze bug appears to be back, random hang, freeze disaster is back for me. same for two friends who have the same (Z77+i7-3770) hardware. chkdsk on windows8 is a mess, it doesn't find any faults, but windows7 chkdsk finds a lot, curious nobody noticed there's something wrong with NTFS drivers or the later kernels. windows 10 destroying data carriers and corrupting data, I lost my savegame from dying light at 11% and due to corruption I had to start back at 8% meeting rais again. I noticed a silent clicking noise from my hdd which doesnt happen on windows 7, same disk other partititon! are they really any able? I don't expect a lot.
You lost your savegame because you didn't make a copy. Also if I remember well this bug was in leaked version*, not official preview. (if this is not true please ignore this post). Beta is for people who want to use windows feedback function and those who understand consequences of using unstable OS. It's not a toy to play with. People don't take it serious enough *I meant leaked OS version, some build before 9926
The system I play on has dualboot with windows 10 & windows 7. No need to make a copy of a savegame which is handled by steam, and by the way I own the game: It's the official game, not a leaked version you're right, actually I don't use windows 10 and on windows 7 I had no more data loss on the savegame. but back on topic, I doubt they used the feedback data to fix issues, cause my windows 8.1 keeps crashing often.
As one of the main contributors to the disabling of the keylogging within the preview I find the entire idea of it insulting. @Mysteriously: You are putting up an argument and opinion based on the fact that I have to put up with something just because of the way things are. I refute the entire premise and position that you hold. I am the percentage that cares deeply about the privacy I get when I'm using a product. The truth of the matter is that when I am using an operating system I expect to be able to opt out of feedback programs regardless of the OS. The current trend is to basically put up with it because well its just how things are. Rubbish I say if I wanted to have all my user information collected and used I'd ask before hand. I'm going to as far as to say that I want the option from the moment I do any actions on the newly installed operating system. I have the experience to turn off every aspect in terms of service and tasks to which Microsoft uses to implement its feedback system. They are all turned off on my systems. Do they hinder the OS performance or usage no. That statement in it of itself proves the reasoning of why I can do anything I want. The EULA is not a valid argument because it proposes a quid pro quo however I bought the software in order to use the software. That being said I appreciate Windows 10 being free but I hold the opinion that Windows 8, Windows 8.1, and Windows 10 are a piece of crap. The user interface is substandard and panders to the tablet audience. Along with lacking substance in terms of simple usability. That being said I like keeping track of the Windows development which is why I like testing it as I'm open to new ideas. I reserve the right to modify any part of the OS because any tracking or feedback without consent can be construed as wiretapping. Now the ability to disable the tracking will be added as a module to the Universal OEM Pack which is in development. Meaning it will let the user have full control over those aspects before he/she even uses the OS . I would be updating the scripting for disabling the tracker but alas I'm mired in getting the Universal OEM Pack up and running.
on 9926, you have to disable these services everytime windows update is installing something. the settings are thus re-enabled a lot. any ideas why? Code: sc delete dmwappushsvc sc delete diagtrack and deny system accessing the file AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl with cacls go to the dir Code: cd C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Diagnosis\ETLLogs\AutoLogger echo "" > AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl cacls AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener.etl /d SYSTEM
I don't see any trace on my windows 10 preview, tried to run the commands and it said it's not installed LOL Manually checked the programdata folder and there are no logs either Edit: f**kers installed it after going online and do updates LOL
@OP: Why didn't you mention to delete this entire folder in registery ? HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\ControlSet001\Control\WMI\AutoLogger\AutoLogger-Diagtrack-Listener When you keep that in registery it keeps loading on your machine, even after every reboot. My etl logs where 16mb/33mb and up. Now after i deleted it from registery it's not creating any log
