    Hi all,

So I have been attempting to fix my external hard drive. I tried swapping out the usb cord and I purchased a hard drive enclosure. This worked at first, but it only stay connected for about 2 minutes then disconnected. Then these times become shorter and shorter until windows just wants to format the drive. I've tried running disk checks but since it can't stay connected at all now... well... you know. Is there any fix for this?

    Any tips are greatly appreciated!!

You need to plug the drive into a known good internal sata controller/power and run any mfg. diagnostics then. If the drive disconnects while attached to an internal power/ sata port your drive has a problem and likley needs RMA/replacement.
