I am in the middle of designing a piece of hardware that will be accessible with android, apple and win 8. My problem is trying to find out what win8 apps are written in.!!! Can anyone help me?

@theclamp: There are a number of Software development environments out there. Some free, some not so free.

Are you looking to create an app that talks to your hardware? If so, you'll need the Windows DDK (Driver Development Kit) to create a Windows driver to allow Windows programs to communicate with your hardware.

Then, you'd build an app that opens the driver and does what you want it to do.

Sounds simple, but it's two separate development projects, which can become complex and difficult.

Good luck with your project. Keep us posted. :)
