Hi, please be gentle with me! I recently bought a used Acer E500 desktop, now when i connected it to the internet a message came up from windows suggesting i might be a victim of counterfitting, and that a licence for windows xp pro was required at $237 Australian, (I live in Australia) It would seem to have been used as a buiness machine and the hence key locked! Anyway decided this no go, so rebuild system, so far have; removed and formatted hard drive, re partitioned hard drive, currently installing xp home, on hard drive, hard drive from Acer will not accept xp install when in acer case, have placed hard drive into another tower and works fine, installing ok. So the question is what is special about the acer case, inc motherboard that can block the install? Is there a way to flash the bios for acer computers? Any help useful links very gratefully recieved. THANKS
