No, as I mentioned before it was for installing win xp, so it was 20GB, and 740GB was still there before and after the problem happened.
No, the one which disappeared was 980GB and not 740GB because you can see that there files there in the attachment picture.

No, I had (before creating the last one partition):
    1. 100MB Reserved
    2. 148GB Primary
    2. 740GB Primary
    2. 980GB Primary
    I just resize 148GB W8 to 128GB W8 and 20GB WXP.
As I told we didn't have any data recovery center in my city.

Just give TestDisk a go and have a look what the Tool will find. As long you don't save something, you will not make things worse.

Without deleting a partition, you cannot claim back your original last 780GB Partition. Just delete XP and reboot may solved the problem.

That's right. As it says, it is a free giveaway only for one day and was valid the entire day I posted it

we were able to solve the case with testdisk, please remember to create only

    4 primary partitions

    or

3 primary partitions+ one extended partition which can hold several volumes
alternatively you could choose GPT layout on UEFI boards, however GPT layout can't be accessed from windows xp
    without using 3-rd party apps.
