Better try to build simple LPT interface, and try, maybe you are lucky enough that MX25L3206 is supported by spipgm or flashrom.
4 resistor 1 capacitor, some wires and 3.3V power easy enough.

Is it really that easy? Do you have a schematic of the board? And what about the software needed?

first backup (if original).. or flash it then compare files .. if backup doesnt match.. resistors arent right or power is noisy.
the orange cable in power supply should be 3.x which is perfect .. i tried 3.0 via 2 AA batteries and wasnt enough.

Thank you guys!!! I may give it a try...

One question: In the schematics, it mentions a 1 mF capacitor between +3.3V and GND. Is that value correct???? It seems so high!!!

    is 1uF micro Farad.
But you can use any value in 1-100 uF range with no problem
