I read some stick topics and I still have some doubts about how to do one thing.

My intent is direct modify the SLIC string in the ACPI table to match with BIOS OEM in CD ROM, with out the need to flash the BIOS. Is it possible ? If yes, how ?

If not, I wish to a way to dump the BIOS from mother board and edit it with the USUAL WAY. Is it possible ?

I have some priorities that need to be considered:

    1) I can NOT burn a new CD for each PC where I will install Windows XP.
    2) I may or may not be able to download a BIOS file.
    3) I prefer to edit the ACPI table manually when possible, maybe using a FreeDOS CD with some tool.

Here is my dmesg | grep SLIC

    0.000000] ACPI: SLIC 00000000cb5f5c88 00176 (v01 CCEInf DIGIBRAS 01072009 AMI 00010013)
How I change it do match with anyone of the OEM BIOS available to download ?
