OK, boot with your win7 DVD and choose install, choose the win7 partition, see if it gives you a warning that there is already a windows on this partition, if yes, back-off from install and reboot, choose repair and see if it can show the win7 for you to repair. If yes go on with what the other guys told you. If no, afriad you might have to do a win7 reinstall.

His win7 DVD~repair was unable to recognize a windows OS on the win7 partition and didn't gave him the option to repair the win7.

you may just format the partition which your windows 7 install in.just check the partitions! if you have done the above , get some data-recovery softwares for help good luck

If you have 2 or more partitions, it would be easier to just reinstall Win7 first in the first partition, make this partition active, then install Win8 on the second partition(not active). On Win8, go to advance system settings > start up and recovery > settings > default operating system: Windows 7
