Hi Im trying to set up windows server 2000 and win xp in virtual pc 2007. I have installed both but cant get them connected to each other or to even ping each other I have set up DNS (not sure if ive done this correctly) DHCP and set the ip address on the xp machine to reflect this. Also tried to set "obtain Ip address Automatically with and without the DNS ip address in. Can somebody point me in the right direction, or advise what settings i need to check on both machines please. Please advise if anymore info needed.
Solved it!!! All I needed to do was set the network adaptors to Local instead of shared. This got the 2 virtual machines talking to each other but to get on the internet i had to download the microsoft loopback adaptor and set the network settings to this. Everything is up and running fine now.
