With Active@ Partition or File Recovery you had more changes to get all data back! Those apps working a different that the Undelete Apps!
did you download from the links I gave you or from their web page If you downloaded demo from web page it will activate but it does not contain all the drivers.
my laptop has 4 USB 3.0 ports bro EDIT: Actually, I can use my work computer but I think it's too late to try now since I have copied the stuff over to my affected USB disk right?
You can try again and see if you have any joy but I doubt it, first rule on data recovery obviously recover to another device and when satisfied then then copy data back.
So with ACTIVE @ Partition, what are the steps that I should do to try to recover again? I've never used it
Hopefully the OP learned that the use of an computer isn't to work with an intelligent machine because a computer could only react to the command given by the user! And regarding the topic , the OP had should realized that there is a huge difference between deleting some data and formatting an HDD because there isn't only Data deleting there's a deleting of the File Allocation Tables (FAT) and it's copies and creating new ones too! An Undelete Apps will look for that FAT's in first line while an Partition and/or File Recovery Apps will look to find delete FAT's first while looking for deleted Data after and comparing their real allocation with the one find in FAT. This way the Apps will show "different" old content which is separated with the related FAT's, showing in Result Page as Data on different levels from unreadable to excellent. For to use any Undelete and/or Recovery Apps for to get lost data back, high caution is adviced and only use the tools which are designed for that special work. Enthusiasm while seeing a way to get the lost back and start action without to double and cross check in advanche could and would lead to even more loss in many cases!
scanning as we speak with Active@ Partition Recovery for Windows (15 hours 22 mins to go) what is the difference between Active@ UnDelete and Active@ Partition Recovery? Active@ has many similar products it is so confusing
