But this is the key which I got from BIOS so how it is generic? From ACPI table MSDM as outlined by you in another forum
Will again install windows 8.1 and will post the results. In case my windows 8 key is being misused so how I can claim it back as it is oem
Hey Tito I´m not sure what you mean by this. My description do work as long as he provide the ei.cfg file with the correct data before creating the UEFi boot with oscdimg.exe
I forgot to mention that if there should be a problem with activating do change of hardware, just do the phone procedure.
Phone activation didn't work. Regarding installation of single core 8.1 , do I need to put any generic key in the beginning of installation as I used to do before ? Well, will use rufus to make USB
Installed 8.1 and for activation entered key and same message error 0xc004c003 error description: The activation server has determined that specified key has been blocked
When I spoke to HP guys, they asked to bring the laptop and they will reset with recovery media. But howcome they will do it if key is blocked?
HP will most likely just put a new license key in the BIOS. If they don´t you will encounter the same problem later, unless they have Microsoft unblock the license. It will be a lot easier for them just to drop a new key to the MSDM tabel in BIOS.
This means that I have to contact HP or MS again to see what they say or charge as from above discussion seems that if block key than very difficult to get back. Actually I was of impression that in addition to oem key one also needs some sort of script in windows media specific to manufacturer like HP. This was discussed in some of HP forums that clean install of windows 8 not possible with oem in newer laptops without their own specific media windows containing some scripts which helps in activating windows
If your OEM key is blocked by Microsoft within warranty they will most likely ask you to contact HP. Even after end of warranty MS might say that with an OEM key you should contact HP. BUT if the key is blocked by MS they must provide you with a good reason for why. Regarding clean install of Windows OEM. I can tell you for sure that this is no problem, no scripts needed. You just need the correct media (OEM) or change any iso with an ei.cfg file If you need more help with this, I am here for you
