    Hi all

Hoping someone can help, or maybe knows how to do this.

I have a few NAS's, one of them is an old qnap ts509, it uses 2 Marvell 88se6145 sata controllers.

I am more then certain that the firmware on these isn't the latest and want to change it to the latest 1.1.0.L75, I am hoping it will allow >2tb to work, I have tried flashing them from DOS, using MVF.exe, but it says they are write protected. it isn't an option ROM in the bios, I modded that already to allow quad cores to work, simple microcode update. It is an x86 cpu and 945g/ich7 chip set.

so my question is does anyone know how to un-write protect the bios on these chips, either by shorting some pins out, or through the serial interface.

Anyway thanks for the help from this site I have already had, files and info for modding bios, and thanks in advance for any help I might get on this.

    regards

    Nick
